Capobianco Named to Team OHL For Canada Russia Series

The Ontario Hockey League, in association with the Canadian Hockey League and the CIBC Canada Russia Series hosts, announced on Tuesday morning that Sudbury Wolves Captain Kyle Capobianco has been named as one of 25 players who will play for Team OHL in the series.

Kyle will participate in game 3 of the 6-game series on Thursday November 10th when Team OHL competes against the Russian National Junior Team in North Bay. The Arizona Coyotes prospect currently sits 4th in team scoring with 4 goals and 7 assists for 11 points in 11 games. He also remains tied for 5th in scoring among all OHL defencemen.

The CHL Canada Russia Series has been an integral part of the identification process for Team Canada for the past 13 years prior to the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.  The event features a team of CHL All-Stars representing each of the three regional leagues competing against the Russian National Junior team.

In 13 years of competition against the Russian National Junior Team, the OHL has a record of 22-3-1 in this series following 2015 victories of 3-0 and 2-1 in Owen Sound and Windsor respectively.
