Dawson Baker Wins Gold at The Dudley-Hewitt Cup

The Sudbury Wolves 4th round selection of the 2016 OHL priority draft, Baker1Dawson Baker, took home a gold medal at the Dudley-Hewitt Cup this past weekend in Trenton, Ontario. The Dudley-Hewitt Cup brings the champions of the Central Canada Junior A Hockey Leagues together to compete for the overall champion.

Dawson being a young player on a veteran team contributed offensively in the tournament where he produced 2 assists. During the Cup final against rival, the Georgetown Raiders, the team took an early 1-0 lead in the first period off a goal set up by Baker. The game stayed closed and the Golden Hawks were able to hold off the Raiders for a 2-1 victory.

The tournament win capped off a successful season for Dawson Baker and the Trenton Golden Hawks as they went 42-9-2-1 during the 2016-17 regular season. Dawson contributed 10 goals, 11 assists, as well as 62 PIM in 33 games.
