Nizhnikov Chooses to Return Home to Russia

(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are advising that Kirill Nizhnikov has chosen to return home to Russia to be with his family.  The skilled forward spent 1 year with the club over 2 seasons scoring 11 goals and 25 assists for 36 points in 58 regular season games.  Nizhnikov was drafted in the first round of the 2016 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection by the Mississauga Steelheads, 7th overall.  He was acquired from the Barrie Colts in December of 2017 by the Wolves. The Sudbury Wolves wish to thank Kirill, for his contribution to the team over this time and wish him best of luck in his future endeavours.

“I would like to thank the Sudbury Wolves organization for everything during my time here,” said Kirill. “It was a very tough decision to return home and I will miss my teammates and friends that I have made here.”

The Wolves will return to action on home ice Friday night for their final home game prior to the Christmas Break. Friday’s game marks the annual Teddy Bear Toss and is sponsored by SUBWAY.
