(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that last season’s 2nd annual Superhero game in support of North Eastern Ontario Kids Foundation, NEO Kids, raised $7,500 for the charity. The money was raised from a silent auction of the special Batman themed jerseys that the team wore last season on the Family Day long weekend in February.
“Last fall we were looking for the right charity to partner with, and between our team and partners and the NEO Kids team it was a great match. The Sudbury Wolves are keen to work with the local community by doing these kinds of novel events,” said Sudbury Wolves VP of Marketing and Development, Andrew Dale. “This was a fun event for everyone, including the players, staff and most importantly the fans who gave so generously for such a great cause, this really is a fan driven project supporting local health services for our children.”
“Heroes can be found in many places,” said Patricia Mills, President of NEO Kids Foundation. “Ordinary people become everyday heroes when they support children’s health care in our community. We truly appreciate all the efforts that went into this generous donation from everyone in Wolves country.”
The Sudbury Wolves would like to thank all of the fans who supported this event and are also excited to announce that they will continue the tradition this season on Saturday February 17th when they host the Hamilton Bulldogs for the 3rd annual Superhero game.
“This event continues to grow each year and has become a game that fans mark on their calendars and look forward to each season,” Dale added, “we can’t wait to reveal this years theme!”
