Wolves Host Central Division Rivals this Weekend

The Sudbury Wolves return to action at home this weekend for double-header Wolves Hockey against two Central division rivals. On Friday night, the Wolves host the Barrie Colts at 7:05pm, before returning to action on Saturday against the Niagara IceDogs at 7:05pm. The Wolves will look to build off last Saturday’s impressive win over the North Bay Battalion.

Friday night marks the return of former Wolf Dmitry Sokolov who will visit the Sudbury Arena for the first time since he was acquired by the Colts earlier this month. The Colts lead the Central division with 55 points on the season and are led up front by overage forward Aaron Lachuk who has 70 points on the season as well as highly touted NHL prospect Andrei Svechnikov.

Friday’s game is sponsored by Bell Let’s Talk who will be on hand with Bell Let’s Talk toques for the first 2000 fans. Visit the Bell Let’s Talk and Wolves United tables in the lower lobby.  Bell Let’s Talk will make a special cheque presentation in the first intermission and Wolves United will unveil their second round of funding recipients during the second intermission of the game.

SATURDAY-BB-JAN27On Saturday, the Wolves will face the Niagara IceDogs for the final time this season. The IceDogs are in second behind the Colts in the Central Division standings, only one point behind, but hold a game in hand over Barrie. The IceDogs are led up front by overage forward Sam Miletic who has 62 points on the season. Top NHL draft prospect Akil Thomas and Vegas Golden Knights prospect Ben Jones round out their top three is scoring with 50 & 49 points respectfully.

Saturday’s game is sponsored by The Sudbury & District Home Builders Association and the 35th Home Show taking place on March 3rd and 4th.

Following this weekend’s home double-header, the Wolves will travel to Mississauga Sunday to complete their 3-in-3 weekend. Game time is 2:00pm.
