Wolves Host Firebirds Friday

(Sudbury, ON) After a busy weekend filled with community events, the Wolves are back in action at the Sudbury Arena, this Friday Night, as they host the Flint Firebirds at 7:05pm.

The Firebirds make their only appearance in Sudbury this Friday and are led up front by overage forward Maurizio Colella who has 18 goals and 27 assists through 49 games this season. Ty Dellandrea trails closely behind with 22 goals and 22 assists through 49 games. On the blueline, Arizona Coyotes prospect Jalen Smereck and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Fedor Gordeev lead the way defensively.

The Sudbury Wolves will look to the leadership group to get the team back in the win column as they lead the young cadre of first year players who are continuing to demonstrate strong development and high energy to each shift.  It’s always exciting when either the Pilon twins or the two Blakes take the ice!

Friday’s game is sponsored by FBC. Visit the FBC table in the lower lobby for the chance to win a chainsaw and don’t miss the FBC Mascot Shootout contest in the first intermission where one lucky winner will win a $50 Visa Gift Card.  You can cheer on Howler as he goes for goals!  Also, visit the OHL Onside and Voices for Women Sudbury Sexual Assault Centre information table in the upper lobby behind section 2 for the chance to win an autographed Sudbury Wolves hockey stick.

Tickets are on-sale now for Friday’s game at the Box Office and online at greatersudbury.ca/tickets. Fans are encouraged to skip the box office line and save time with WOLVES WEB WEDNESDAY.   All day Wednesday, every Wednesday, fans can purchase their tickets online and save the service fees!

Following Friday’s game, the Wolves will head south to face the Western Conference London Knights and Sarnia Sting. The Wolves will face-off against the Knights on Saturday at 7:00pm before wrapping up the weekend against the Sting on Sunday at 2:05pm.

Fans can follow the Wolves on the road this season by tuning into the live play by play call on the radio at 96.7 CKLU or mxlr.com/sudburywolves on the Wolves App Saturday vs. London.   Alternatively, fans have the option to listen in or tune into Eastlink TV 10 or 610 to watch Sunday’s broadcast vs. Sarnia.

Prior to the weekend, the Wolves will keep their community spirit alive as they are scheduled to visit classes at Alliance St-Joseph and Helen Gravelle on Wednesday as part of the PaWES and Adopted School programs.
