The Sudbury Wolves wrapped up the double header weekend with an outstanding 7-0 win over Central Division the Mississauga Steelheads on Sunday afternoon. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 32 saves to earn the shut-out and help the pack secure the win. Wolves goal scorers were Owen Gilhula, Quinton Byfield, Drake Pilon, David Levin, Blake Murray, and Owen Robinson. The Wolves took all three Molson stars of the game as Luukkonen earned first star while Quinton Byfield and Blake Murray took second and third stars.
The Wolves opened the scoring with a pair of goals from Owen Gilhula and Quinton Byfield. It was a big first period for Gilhula who went top shelf, glove side on Ingham to give the pack an early 1-0 lead on the Steelheads. He then set up Byfield perfectly who was ready in the slot for a one-timer. Byfield fired in the puck to leave the Wolves with a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.
The second and third periods were also busy ones for the Wolves as they notched another 5 goals on the Steelheads. Drake Pilon took one home on the power play just under 5 minutes into the second period. Not five minutes later, David Levin followed suit tallying another for the Wolves.
In the final frame Blake Murray fired in two goals to extend the Wolves lead to 6-0. Both goals were beautiful one-timers right from the slot. To finish off the game, Owen Robinson scored his second of the season to give the Wolves a big 7-0 win.
