The Sudbury Wolves paid a visit to the Barrie Colts Thursday night to kick off their busy weekend. It was a low scoring affair as the Wolves scored the lone goal of the game and defeated the Colts 1-0.
The Wolves had a number of excellent chances during the opening period of play and out-shot the Colts 15-6 through the first 20 minutes, however the game remained scoreless. Macauley Carson put the Wolves on the board late in the second period on a short handed goal from newly acquired overage forward Chandler Yakimowicz. This would mark the only goal of the game as the Wolves went on to defeat the Colts by a final score of 1-0.
Both the Wolves and Colts were 0 for 6 on the power play. Zack Bowman picked up the shut-out with 20 saves, while Colts goaltender David Ovsjannikov made 32 saves in the loss.
Second year forward, Macauley Carson now leads the Wolves in goals scored with 3 goals in 5 games.
The Wolves are back on home ice Friday night as they host the Owen Sound Attack for the one and only time this season at 7:00pm at the Sudbury Community Arena.
