The Sudbury Wolves wrapped up their four game home-stand and double header weekend Saturday night by welcoming former Wolves’ forward Dawson Baker and defenseman Conor Ali and the rest of the Kingston Frontenacs to the Sudbury Community Arena. The Wolves clinched the two points, beating the Frontenacs 2-0. Goal scorers for the Wolves were Macauley Carson and David Levin with Quinton Byfield, Liam Ross, Kirill Nizhnikov, and Blake Murray all earning assists. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen picked up his first OHL career shut-out.
Just over ten minutes into the first, Macauley Carson opened the scoring for the Wolves with Quinton Byfield and Liam Ross earning the assists.The Wolves were quick to make it 2-0 with David Levin scoring a highlight-reel goal from behind his leg. Nizhnikov and Murray added the assists. Luukkonen shut the door in net and keep the Frontenacs at bay, giving the Wolves the 2-0 lead to end the period.
Both teams put on the pressure in the second and third, however, the Frontenacs could not solve Luukkonen who picked up the win and first star honours. Quinton Byfield’s strong play earned him second star of the game.
