(Greater Sudbury, ON) It’s official, the Sudbury Wolves will face off against the Ottawa 67’s in the second round of the OHL Playoffs. Both the Wolves and the 67’s swept their first-round opponents in four games last Wednesday.
The 67’s finished the regular season with 106 points through 68 games, 15 points ahead of the Wolves, and first in the Ontario Hockey League. Ottawa’s roster features Dallas Stars prospect, Tye Felhaber, finished the regular season with 109 points, placing him third in the OHL point leaders’ race. The 67’s have a strong goaltending duo in Michael DiPietro and Cedrick Andree who finished the season top two in goals against average with 2.40 and 2.48 respectively.
The season series between these two clubs was tied at one overtime win apiece, however they haven’t faced off since the middle of November. The 67’s took a 4-3 overtime victory on October 28th in Ottawa, while the Wolves took a 3-2 overtime victory on November 15th in Sudbury.
The Eastern Conference Semi-Finals series will begin in Ottawa on Friday. The two squads will return to Sudbury on April 9th to face off at the Sudbury Arena. The complete series schedule is as follows:
