2022 OHL Priority Selection April 29th-30th

The future starts tonight when the 2022 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore gets underway at 7:00pm. The Wolves secured the 3rd overall pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection by way of a lottery that was held on April 20th.

The OHL Priority Selection will once again be held over the course of two days, with the opening three rounds taking place on Friday, April 29 beginning at 7:00pm. The proceedings resume on Saturday, April 30 starting at 9:00am with Rounds 4-15. The Priority Selection will be streamed for free in its entirety on CHL TV. Fans can also watch complete Day 1 coverage on YourTV, Rogers tv, Eastlink, Cable 14 and Shaw Spotlight community stations, as well as on the OHL Action Pak.

The Priority Selection remains its customary 15 rounds in length, but unlike past years, it will be held in a serpentine arrangement, with the order of selection in the first round being reversed to begin Round 2 and alternating each round thereafter.

 Nathan Villeneuve Nathan is a highly skilled power forward with tremendous speed and hockey sense. He plays a complete 200-foot game.  Nathan is tenacious on the forecheck and on the backcheck.  Physically dominant on the ice, possessing an elite hockey skillset with his pace, compete, and motor. Nathan can create momentum many ways for his team either by finishing a check, scoring a goal, or setting up a teammate.  Nathan is a leader who is well respected in his locker room.  When it comes to off-ice training Nathan is second to none, this translates to a relentless work ethic on ice.
 Kieron Walton Kieron has an excellent skillset, with his 6’5″ frame he generates top speed with ease, handles the puck with pace and command. Kieron uses that size and strength to his advantage in nearly every facet of the game. His unique package of speed, power and quick hands are rare and will be a massive asset at the OHL level.
 Andrew Gaulton Andrew is a very composed and technically sound goaltender who moves in a very efficient manner.  He is poised while displaying a willingness to battle and compete never giving up on a play.  An excellent goalie prospect for the Sudbury Wolves.
 Conor Walton  Conor is a physical, two-way defender who utilizes his physical attributes to become tough to play against. His strength and competitiveness allow him to out muscle opponents to win pucks and position battles. Conor has a good active stick that allows him to create turnovers by stepping up to challenge in all 3 zones. His outlet pass is crisp and clean.
 Owen Protz  Owen is a skilled two-way defenceman.  He is a big body who can run a power play and lead the team’s penalty kill.  His ability to read the game in all 3 zones makes him dangerous. He has a lethal shot combined with the ability to get pucks through from the point. In the defensive zone he leans on you and has an active stick that creates turnovers which allows your team quick transition up the ice combined with a good first pass.
 Brady Wassink  Brady displays strong skating abilities in which he uses to dictate his game. Has excellent agility to maneuver around the opposition when carrying the puck in full stride. He displays quality puck handling abilities and excellent confidence while in possession of the puck.
 Justin Huynh  Justin makes solid reads that provides him time and space to find open players with his excellent vision and puck moving abilities. Justin is a tireless worker that excels in possession, makes strong neutral zone reads that allows him to quickly close a gap and take away time and space.
 Quinten Lisle  Quinten is a physical forward with a competitive game mentality, who attacks the net with speed and grit. Quinten shows strong positional awareness throughout all three zones and is able to contribute offensively in almost every game.
 Joshua Colosimo  Colosimo is a strong skater with excellent acceleration and has a strong and accurate shot. Joshua has an excellent skill set and utilizes his teammates well. He brings it every shift, wins pucks, and is solid on both sides of the puck.
 Marshall McCharles  Marshall displays quick feet and an explosive first step that allows him to create separation from a check and create space for himself to make a play. He has great pace and compete level.
 Braydon Bruce Braydon is a towering defenseman with excellent gap control and reach to effectively defend his zone. He constantly shows his ability to angle his opponent effectively by keeping the play in front of him and to the outside. Braydon makes a good clean outlet pass on a consistent basis.
 Blake Wright Wright has all the tools to be an impact player at the OHL level. His hockey IQ is as good as any in his peer group, and he anticipates the play really well. Wright has an excellent skill set that sees the ice well, distributes the puck well and generates a lot of offence for his team. He is an excellent skater who plays at a high tempo and has the ability to make plays on a consistent basis.
 Finn Marshall  Finn is a competitive goaltender with good size and can keep his team in games with his consistent effort and determination. Finn shows quick lower body movements as he was able to quickly kick out his pads to make reactionary saves. He has the ability to move fluidly in the net and rarely out of position.
 Charles Pardue  Charlie is one of the top forwards from the US in this year’s draft selection. He is a highly skilled forward that plays with pace, vision, and excellent hockey sense. Charlie is responsible in all 3 zones and can be relied upon in all situations. Charlie has a very bright future in the game.
