Jendek Commits to Wolves

(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves is pleased to announce that Slovakian import forward Dominik Jendek has committed to the hockey club. The 19-year-old forward was selected by the Wolves in the second round of the 2020 Import Selection (91st overall). Jendek currently plays for the men’s HC Slovan Bratislava team where he also spent time playing during the 2019-20 season.

“I’m really excited that I was drafted by such a great organization such as the Sudbury Wolves,” said Dominik Jendek. “I can’t wait to join the team and play with this group of guys. I will try my best to reach our goal of winning the Memorial Cup. See you soon Wolves fans.”

“We are very happy that Dominik has committed to coming over once our season gets started,” said VP & General Manager Rob Papineau. “He plays the game with high speed and energy.  He is expected to participate in the World Junior Championship for Slovakia in Edmonton. He is currently playing in the men’s league in Slovakia for HC Slovan Bratislava where he also played last season,” Papineau added.

Jendek is a 6’1”, 181lb right winger played for both the U20 and men’s HC Slovan Bratislava teams during the 2019-20 season. In 13 games during the 2019-20 season with the U20 team, Jendek scored 7 goals and added 6 assists while additionally scoring 4 goals and adding 3 assists in 39 games with the men’s team. He also represented Solvakia at the 2019-20 Under-20 IIHF World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic and expected to do so again this year in Edmonton.
