(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves welcomed 15 new prospects to the organization Saturday during the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, including 8 forwards, 5 defencemen and 2 goaltenders.
“Our staff is thrilled with the results of our draft today,” said Sudbury Wolves VP & General Manager Rob Papineau. “We added some outstanding high-end skill, speed and compete at the top of our draft and we added many complete players during the day. All of these players have a real chance to be difference makers and we cannot wait to get to see them on the ice at the Sudbury Arena.”
The Wolves kicked off the first round by selecting centre David Goyette from the South Kent Selects Academy 15’s 11th overall in the draft. In 65 games this past season, the 5’9”, 147lbs forward scored 49 goals and added 104 assists for 153 points.
In the second round, the Wolves were excited to be able to select centre Kocha Delic from the Toronto Titans Minor Midget AAA, 28th overall. Delic scored 22 goals and added 20 assists through 32 games this past season.
“Today was a very successful day for the Sudbury Wolves Organization,” added Wolves Head Scout Mike Taylor. “As a scouting staff we were very pleased to be able to build upon the prospects that we selected in the 2019 Draft. Overall, we are very excited for what the future holds and to watch these prospects become excellent additions to a team in the future.
