The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce they have added Gary Ricciardi to the team’s scouting staff for the 2021-22 season.
“We have really gotten to know Gary well over the past couple seasons,” said Sudbury Wolves Vice President and General Manager Rob Papineau. “He is the brother of our current scout Jeff Ricciardi and has done a great job identifying top prospects out of the United States for us. We are very excited to add Gary to the team officially and look forward to having him more active with our staff. He has a long history in the game at many levels as a player, coach and scout,” Papineau added.
“I want to start by saying how thankful and humbled I am to the Sudbury Wolves organization,” said Ricciardi. “I am eager to continue working alongside Rob Papineau and Mike Taylor as well as the rest of the scouting, coaching and administrative staff. Sudbury has a strong hockey history, and it is my intention to bring passion, dedication and hard work to help continue the tradition of excellence here with the Wolves.”
Gary has been the owner of Core Hockey Elite Training Camps since 2005 where he has trained players at all levels including former Sudbury Wolves players, Marc Staal and Taylor Pyatt, among others. He has been in an unofficial consulting role with our team for the past couple seasons providing great input and reports on American born prospects. Gary’s primary area of responsibility will continue to be scouting south of the border.
