The Sudbury Wolves had an exciting final home game of the regular season taking home a huge victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs. Adam Ruzicka fired up the crowd, scoring 4 goals, to help lead the pack to a 8-4 win with final shots on goal 35-31 in favour of the Wolves. Other Wolves goal scorers included Owen Robinson, Blake Murray, Owen Gilhula, and Macauley Carson.
Prior to the game, the Wolves honoured overage players Cole Candella, Darian Pilon and Drake Pilon for their time with the Wolves organization and Ontario Hockey League.
In the first period, the Hamilton Bulldogs opened the scoring just over the midway mark of the period with a goal from Liam Stevens. Adam Ruzicka then ripped a shot in past the glove of Nick Donofrio to tie the game up 1. The game remained tied at one a piece with the Wolves outshooting the Bulldogs 13-10 after 20 minutes.
Going into the second period, the Wolves changed the pace of the game scoring three goals. Adam Ruzicka notched two goals to complete the hat trick while Owen Robinson tallied one to put the Wolves up by three goals. Dylan D’Agostino scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs. After forty minutes, the Wolves led 4-2 over the visitors.
In the final frame, the Wolves were a force to be reckoned with, scoring four more goals which came from Blake Murray, Adam Ruzicka, Owen Gilhula and Macauley Carson. Logan Morrison scored on the power play and Arthur Kaliyev put in a rebound, however, it was not enough to make the comeback as the Wolves took their final home game of the regular season by a 8-4 final in front of over 5000 fans at the Sudbury Arena.
The Wolves will head to Peterborough to play the Petes on Saturday at 7:05pm, before travelling to Oshawa on Sunday to play the Generals at 6:05pm.
