Wolves Select Lalonde 2nd Overall

The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce the selection of defenceman OWEN LALONDE 2nd overall in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection. The 6’, 171lbs right-shot defenceman averaged 1.12 points per game for the Windsor AAA Zone Minor Midgets this past season. The Riverside native was also named the ALLIANCE Player the Year for the 2015-16 season.

Owen can be described as an elite defenceman who has exceptional poise and demonstrates a high hockey IQ. He is a team-first player who possesses strong leadership qualities on and off the ice.

“The Sudbury Wolves are very proud to select Owen second overall in this year’s draft,” said Sudbury Wolves General Manager Barclay Branch. “Owen is an elite defenceman and will be a tremendous fit for our hockey club moving forward.”
“I am very honoured to be selected 2nd overall by the Sudbury Wolves,” said Owen Lalonde. “I am looking forward to a great opportunity in Sudbury.”

Fans will have their first chance to see Lalonde and all of the Wolves 2016 OHL Priority Selections in action at the Sudbury Wolves Orientation Camp on April 23rd and 24th at Countryside Arena.

The Priority Selection can be followed live at and on our social feeds (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram).
