Wolves Sign Pezzetta

The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that 1st round selection MICHAEL PEZZETTA has made a commitment to play for the storied OHL franchise for the 2014-15 season. Pezzetta will earn a full-ride educational scholarship package with the Sudbury Wolves at any Canadian University of his choice.

The 6’01”, 200 lb forward from Toronto was selected 11th overall by the Sudbury Wolves. PEZZETTA is a described as a power forward with excellent skills and plays a physical brand of hockey. Pezzetta was the captain of the Mississauga Senators of the Greater Toronto Hockey League last season and led his team in scoring with 26 points in 29 games. In the play-offs, Pezzetta once again led his team with 11 points in 10 games. In the OHL Cup, Pezzetta led his team with 5 points in four tournament games.

“The Sudbury Wolves are very pleased to have Michael Pezzetta officially on-board with our hockey club” notes Wolves’ President and General Manager Blaine Smith. “Michael is exactly the kind of hockey player that this team needs to build our team around for the future. He is an outstanding leader, he competes extremely hard and he has very good offensive skills. Our fans are really going to enjoy watching Michael perform here in Sudbury.”

The young forward is equally excited to join his new team: “I am extremely proud to become a member of the Sudbury Wolves organization” notes Pezzetta. “I have heard nothing but great things about the organization and I know that they will provide me with an excellent opportunity to develop and contribute to the team’s success.”

Pezzetta and his newly-drafted Wolves’ prospects will be skating at the Countryside Arena on Sunday morning from 10:30 – Noon. Wolves’ season ticket holders and fans are encouraged to come out and congratulate the newest member of the Sudbury Wolves organization and watch all of the prospects in attendance at this year’s Orientation Camp.
