The Sudbury Wolves shifted their focus from the playoffs to the OHL Priority Selection Saturday as they welcomed 16 new players to the organization.
With their 1st round selection, 15th overall, the Wolves were pleased to select 5’10, 155 lbs centre Landon McCallum from the Brantford 99ers.
“We were extremely excited to be able to select a player of Landon’s caliber,” said Sudbury Wolves General Manager Rob Papineau. “He is a highly skilled forward with excellent vision and can make all the players around him better. He is a tremendous playmaker with big upside and has a very high compete level who is very hard to play against,” he added.
The Wolves selected NOHA Player of the year, Chase Stillman, and Ethan Larmand in the second round with back to back picks at 25th and 26th overall.
“Overall, we feel we had a great draft,” said Wolves Head Scout Mike Taylor. “We were able to fill our depth chart in a number of areas that we needed and select quality players throughout the draft. This will only help in building a championship caliber team year after year.”
