Wolves Win Game 3 Take Series Lead 2-1

The Sudbury Wolves returned home to a loud Sudbury Community Arena full of enthusiastic fans to host the Oshawa Generals for Game #3 of the first round on Tuesday night.  The Wolves won the game by a score of 3-2 and now lead the best of seven series two games to one.  Game #4 (Home Game #2) is set for Thursday night, March 30th at 7:00pm the Barn on Elgin St., when the Generals look to even the series and the Wolves seek to take a commanding lead.

The Wolves started out well but the Generals matched the home team energy and eventually took the lead and a 1-0 score into the first intermission.  The Wolves came howling out of the dressing room for the second period and capitalized on special team opportunities, both on the power play and the penalty kill, and built a 3-1 lead before heading into the last frame.  During the 3rd period Jake McGrath made several strong plays in net to keep the score tilted in the home side’s favour.  The Generals scored to make the game 3-2 but that was all they could manage as the Wolves held the lead and responded to the Generals’ attack.

Thursday’s game is sponsored by the Lexington Hotel who will be on hand with prizes for lucky fans! Don’t miss the Lexington Hotel T-Shirt toss in the first intermission.   Wolves Fans can also pick up their Jiffy Lube PLAYOFF Howl Towels on their way into Tuesday’s game.
