The Sudbury Wolves undefeated start to the 2021-22 season was put to an abrupt halt on Thanksgiving Monday in North Bay. The Battalion took down the Pack by a score of 3-2.
Jack Thompson opened the scoring with a shorthanded marker in the first period, notching his third goal through 3 games. After the Wolves conceded the game-tying goal early in the second period, Alex Assadourian picked up his first career OHL goal to put the Pack back out in front. The Battalion scored two third period tallies and were able to lock down Sudbury’s potent offense for the rest of the game.
Despite the loss, Mitchell Weeks put forth another stellar effort. He turned aside 30 of North Bay’s 33 attempts on goal to continue his excellent run of form to start the season.
The Wolves look to get back to their winning ways on Thursday October 14th in Peterborough for a rematch of the season opener against the Petes.
